Lima, Perú - After months of conversations, on August 16 and 17, 2017 the Parties reached a successful agreement at a workshop facilitated by MICI. During the workshop, the Inter- Ethnic Association for the Development of the Peruvian Rainforest (AIDESEP), the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the Execution Unit for Sectorial Proyect Management (MINAGRI) agreed on the progress made on the 2016 commitments.
Conjointly, the Parties agreed on the necessary actions to achieve the fulfillment of the pending commitments and defined a Follow-up Plan to monitor the commitment progress. These actions focus on the land titles of 403 communities in the Peruvian Amazon, and the titling sequence proposed in the project.
The progress achieved is definetely an important achievement for all Parties, so MICI will support the process and monitor the compliance of the agreements established in the Follow-up Plan.
